Here comes Autumn!

It’s late September, the light is has a certain quality about it as the sun sits lower in the sky and the landscape it changing. The harvested stubble fields, or those which haven’t been ploughed yet are a bleached beige, the exhausted greens of the trees and hedgerows are beginning to turn to yellows, oranges, reds and browns with the promise of a kaleidoscope of colour in the coming weeks.

Here’s a drawing of a large totem on the road to Yearsley which I’ve been meaning to capture since last year – in fact I think I’ll be returning to this, hopefully it won’t be felled anytime soon!.
