Painted on location in mid-September, this familiar corner of the North Yorkshire countryside captures the changing character of the fields as summer gives way to autumn.
A mature tree stands between two contrasting fields - one freshly ploughed, its rich earth exposed, the other still holding the warm golden tones of the recent harvest. Soft September light filters through the foliage, bringing together the greens, ochres and earthy colours of the turning season.
A quiet, familiar landscape that reflects the rhythms of the farming year.
