This work will be shown as part of From the Earth at Craven Arts in Skipton. Please contact me if you are interested in this painting.

Painted en plein air on a cloudy, moody March afternoon, this piece captures a moment of quiet beauty on the winding Thornton Road. I was struck instantly by the composition—the way the lane curves uphill—and the striking mauves and purples in the road and hedgerows. I managed to capture the low sun as it briefly emerged, adding a fleeting touch of light.

'High Hill Farm' is both expressive and grounded, with a harmonised palette that reflects the subtle colours of the British landscape in early spring. It's a place I know well—one I return to often—and though it's painted from life, I think it may remind others of lanes they’ve walked too. Paths that feel familiar, even if you’ve never been there. The kind of view that quietly stays with you.
