Last Light, Thornton

This painting captures a fleeting moment of golden hour, when the sun dipped low over Thornton Lane and the countryside glowed with late summer light. The tall trees flare with amber and green as the hedgerows catch fire with colour, while the lane curves gently into distance. Painted quickly to catch a light that would vanish within minutes, the work preserves the stillness and radiance of that moment before dusk.
