Painted on location on a hot, humid June day, Midsummer, Thornton Lane captures the landscape at the height of summer. Dense greens, sunlit fields and the winding lane are built up with expressive brushwork, while the still, heavy air - and the unwelcome attention of countless thunderbugs, became very much part of the experience of painting it!
FRAMING
This painting is supplied framed in my signature 50mm scoop frame, hand-finished in Farrow & Ball “Elephant’s Breath” with a “Pointing” slip inset.
The framing is intended to provide a calm, understated presentation that complements the palette and character of the work.
