A quiet track near Kilburn, North Yorkshire, on a cloudy morning in early October. Mature trees shelter the winding lane, their foliage just beginning to take on the colours of autumn, while glimpses of the surrounding fields appear through the branches.
Painted in oils, this familiar corner of the countryside captures the subdued light, rich greens and first golden tones of the changing season. A peaceful, secluded spot where the landscape seems to invite you to wander a little further.
