Painted on location in early January, this view looks towards Peep o’ Day Farm on Thornton Hill. Low winter light moves across the land, catching the hedgerows and lifting them against the cooler tones of the fields and distant ground. The track draws the eye forward through the composition, while subtle shifts in colour reflect the quiet clarity of the season. A study of winter light, structure and distance.
