A Summer Landscape

This collection brings together paintings made across the landscape close to home in North Yorkshire, around Thornton-on-the-Hill, Terrington, Newburgh, Birdsall and the nearby Wolds. Painted largely on location, the work reflects the character of the arable landscape as summer reaches its height, with ripening wheat and barley, warm fields, deep greens and the first signs of harvest.

Working directly in the landscape, I respond to the particular character of these familiar places - lanes, trees, hedgerows, farms and cultivated fields - and to the shifting colour, light and atmosphere of each day. Together, the paintings form a personal record of summer in this part of North Yorkshire.

All larger paintings are priced framed, as shown, in my signature profile, while the four smaller works are presented in a simpler contemporary white frame, chosen to suit their scale. If you’d like any further information about a particular painting, or have any questions about framing or delivery, please do get in touch.
